About Vertex Control Systems

Built around
building systems.

Vertex Control Systems is a Louisiana-based HVAC controls and building automation contractor. Everything we do is designed around one goal: helping building owners run their facilities efficiently, reliably, and cost-effectively.

Our Story

Helping building owners get more from their systems.

We look at controls as the heart of the building. Every piece of mechanical equipment (your chillers, air handlers, boilers, VAVs) depends on the controls system to run it properly. Without an effective, efficient controls system, you’re essentially operating without a heartbeat.

Vertex was founded by a controls engineer who spent years in the field seeing this firsthand. Buildings full of expensive equipment that never performed to its potential because the controls were an afterthought. We built this company to fix that.

Today Vertex operates out of Covington, Louisiana with on-site service statewide and controls installation nationwide. We also provide remote Niagara N4 programming and BAS support to clients across the U.S.

Controls-first, mechanically fluent

Every technician understands both the DDC logic and the mechanical equipment it governs. That means faster root-cause diagnosis, fewer callbacks, and problems caught before they cascade into expensive failures.

Software DNA

We come from a software engineering background. That mindset carries through to how we architect BAS systems, write sequences of operation, and build custom tools for the controls industry.

Single-source accountability

We handle controls engineering, Niagara N4 programming, installation, commissioning, and ongoing service under one contract. One point of contact. No finger-pointing between trades.

Technology-forward

We stay current with Niagara releases, security patches, and emerging protocols. We build custom software tools for the building automation industry. We invest in technology because our clients benefit from it.

How We Work

What drives every project we take on.

Do it right the first time

We don’t cut corners on commissioning. Every sensor gets calibrated. Every sequence gets tested. Every point gets verified.

Understand the whole system

A controls issue can look like a mechanical failure. Our technicians are trained to diagnose both sides, because the building doesn’t care which trade is responsible.

Stay after the install

We offer service contracts because we believe the relationship starts at commissioning, not ends there.

Build better tools

We invest in software development for the controls industry, not just for our clients, but for the trade.

Be direct

We’ll tell you if your 20-year-old pneumatic system needs replacement instead of another band-aid. Honest assessments build long-term relationships.

Keep learning

Building technology moves fast. We stay current through continuous education, Tridium certification, and hands-on R&D.
